Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2650m)
Your adventure begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where our friendly guide will welcome you with warm smiles and a seamless transfer to the starting point of your climb. As you drive through the scenic countryside of Moshi, the breathtaking views of rolling hills, coffee plantations, and local villages set the stage for your journey. Upon reaching the Lemosho Gate, you will complete the necessary registration formalities, feeling the anticipation build for the days ahead. From here, the trek officially begins! You will enter the lush rainforest trail, surrounded by towering trees and the soothing sounds of exotic birds. After a rewarding 3–4 hour hike, you arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp, perched at 2,650 meters, where you can relax, enjoy your first campfire, and soak in the beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro at sunset—an unforgettable welcome to your climb.

Mti Mkubwa Camp (2650m) to Shira II Camp (3,890 meters)
This day will be one of your most scenic and longest hiking trails on Mount Kilimanjaro. The first trek involves a 3 to 4-hour trail to the Shira I Campsite, for about 7 kilometers, followed by a lunch and rest. Then, proceed with 4 to 5 hours climbing an additional 9 kilometers. In this part of the climbing trip, you traverse the heart of the Shira Plateau—via the most stunning moorland zone of Kilimanjaro Park, before reaching your final camp of a day for rest and overnight at Shira II camp set at the base of an impressive lava flow.

Shira II Camp (3,890 meters) to Barranco Camp 3940m
You will luxury climb of an approximately 9 kilometers, taking about 6 to 8 hours begining with a Kilimanjaro climb over steep hills and scattered rocks, followed by a gradual trek on Kilimanjaro toward the Lava Tower Camp of Mount Kilimanjaro, which stands at 4,600 meters—a 150-meter-high volcanic plug where you’ll get a lunch. At this altitude, you may begin to experience a mild headache due to the high climbing elevation during the climb. After reaching the Lava Tower Camp, you’ll continue roughly for two hours along a dusty, rocks before reaching at Kilimanjaro’s Barranco Camp for rest and an overnight stay.

Barranco Camp 3940m to Barafu Camp 4673m
After breakfast, you will leave the Barranco Camp passing via the Barranco wall, to the Kilimanjaro’s Karanga Camp, you will have a delicious lunch at Karanga Camp and acclimatize for a few minutes before proceeding to the Barafu Camp (4673m). At this point, you have completed the Southern Circuit of Mount Kilimanjaro, which offers views of the Kibo summit from many different angles. Here you can make camp, rest, and get a dinner, and prepare for the Peak summit day. The two Kilimanjaro peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo are to be seen from this position. You will cover the distances of 9 kilometers about 8-10 hours and you will be in the alpine desert – Mount Kilimanjaro.

Barafu Camp (4673m) to Uhuru Summit (5895m) to Mweka Camp (3100m)
The summit push begins at midnight with a steep 2–3 hour climb over rocks, followed by a zigzag ascent to Stella Point (5,756 m) around 6:00 AM. Here, you may meet climbers from Marangu, Rongai, and Northern Circuit before continuing about an hour to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Witness a stunning sunrise, spend 10–20 minutes for photos, then descend to Barafu Camp for rest and lunch. Continue down to Mweka Camp (3,100 m). Distance: 5 km up, 12 km down; 7–8 hrs up, 4–6 hrs down.

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi
After breakfast, you will begin your final descend to the Mweka Gate Kilimanjaro (1,640m), where you will receive your summit success certificates. This route at the lower elevations can be wet and muddy, so gaiters and trekking poles are recommended to have. Light clothes such as shorts and T-shirts should be sufficient, but keep your rain gear and warmer layers mostly accessible. Upon reaching at the Mweka Gate - Kilimanjaro, our vehicle will be waiting for you to transfer you back to your luxury hotel in Moshi, where you can enjoy a hot shower and rest. The descent covers approximately distance of 10 kilometers that takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, passing via a lush rainforest.
