Today, you will enjoy a gentle ascent with panoramic views as you cross the southwest side of Mount Kilimanjaro. After passing beneath the Lava Tower and the final section of the Western Breach, you’ll stop for a hot lunch at the base of the Lava Tower (4,600 m). Following lunch, you’ll descend into the Great Barranco Valley, reaching an elevation of 3,950 meters.

In the hours of the mid-night (between midnight and 2 a.m.), you’ll begin your final ascent toward the summit, trekking between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. The route takes you northwest, climbing through steep scree to reach Stella Point on the crater rim. This section is the most physically and mentally demanding part of the climb. Upon arrival at Stella Point, you’ll take a brief rest and be rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise—an unforgettable sight.
