6 Days Group Luxury Kilimanjaro Climb via Machame Route from Zanzibar in Tanzania (2026 - 2027)

Moshi – Machame Gate to Mandara Huts

Distance: 8 km – Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

Habitat: Rainforest

After breakfast at Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel, you will be transferred to Machame Gate. Complete registration and receive an essential briefing. Your trek begins through beautiful rainforest trails filled with exotic birds and Colobus monkeys. You will trek 8 km over 4–5 hours, arriving at Mandara Huts for your first night on the mountain.

Mandara Huts to Horombo Huts

Distance: 12 km – Hiking Time: 6–8 hours

Habitat: Heath / Moorland

You will start the day with a steep forest climb before entering the high moorland. If the weather is clear, you should enjoy your first views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Trek across scenic moorlands and unique alpine flora before arriving at Horombo Huts.

: Horombo Huts to Mawenzi Huts and Return (Acclimatization Day)

Distance: 10 km – Hiking Time: 3–5 hours

Habitat: Heath

You will spend this day acclimatizing by trekking toward Mawenzi Huts and returning to Horombo Huts. Along the way, enjoy inspiring views of Kibo and Mawenzi and capture photos of the stunning alpine landscapes.

Horombo Huts to Kibo Huts

Distance: 10 km – Hiking Time: 6–8 hours

Habitat: Alpine Desert

You will begin with a gradual ascent before crossing the barren Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The lunar-like landscape provides dramatic views. Arrive at Kibo Huts, rest, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the midnight summit climb.

Kibo Huts to Uhuru Peak and Descend to Horombo Huts

Distance: 22 km – Hiking Time: 10–13 hours

Habitat: Arctic / Alpine Desert

You will wake around midnight for your final ascent to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point. Trek steadily to Gilman’s Point, traverse the crater rim, and reach the summit in time for sunrise. Take photos and celebrate before descending to Kibo Huts for brunch and then to Horombo Huts.

Horombo Huts to Machame Gate – Moshi

Distance: 20 km – Hiking Time: 5–7 hours

Habitat: Rainforest

You will descend through moorlands and rainforest to Machame Gate, where you will receive your official summit certificate. Transfer to Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel in Moshi, enjoy a hot shower, celebrate your achievement, and reflect on your luxury Kilimanjaro adventure.

Moshi to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Zanzibar via flight or ferry. Capture final memories, take photos, and thank your guides and porters for their support on this unforgettable adventure.
