Leave the rainforest behind and enter high moorland with heather, tall grasses, and volcanic rocks. Luxury tents offer quality bedding, blankets, and ample space. Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp

Hiking Time: 6-8 hours 

Habitat: Alpine Desert

Climb Barranco Wall, traverse Karanga Valley, and ascend to Barafu Camp. Luxury tents offer private space, deluxe bedding, and a comfortable environment. Hiking Time: 5-7 hours up / 5-6 hours down 

Habitat: Stone scree and ice-capped summit

Start the summit climb at 2 a.m., ascending scree to Stella Point and then to Uhuru Peak. Witness sunrise at Africa’s highest point. Descend to Mweka Camp with lunch stops. Descend rainforest trails to Mweka Gate for summit certificates. Luxury vehicles transport you back to Moshi. Enjoy lunch at the hotel and relax before your onward flight. Gaiters and trekking poles recommended for muddy areas. Lightweight clothing suffices with rain gear available. The final day combines celebration, comfort, and recovery after the summit adventure.
