Zanzibar – Moshi
Fly from Zanzibar to Moshi, where our guide will welcome you and transfer you to your budget hotel. After check-in, enjoy a pre-climb briefing covering safety, gear, and the upcoming adventure along the Lemosho Route. Dinner is provided at the hotel, and you’ll rest to prepare for the trek starting the next day.

Transfer from Moshi – Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 m)
Drive from Moshi to Lemosho Gate, passing scenic countryside, coffee plantations, and local villages. Complete registration formalities, then begin your trek along the lush rainforest trail. Hike approximately 3–4 hours covering 6 km, ascending to Mti Mkubwa Camp at 2,650 m. Enjoy your first campfire, dinner, and soak in the beauty of Kilimanjaro at sunset.

Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 m) to Shira II Camp (3,890 m)
Trek 16 km over 7–9 hours across the Shira Plateau, with a lunch break at Shira I Camp. Traverse moorland, passing streams and unique flora, before arriving at Shira II Camp at 3,890 m at the base of a lava flow. This is one of the most scenic days, offering panoramic views of Kibo Peak.

Shira II Camp (3,890 m) to Barranco Camp (3,940 m)
Hike 9 km in 6–8 hours through Alpine Desert terrain, ascending to Lava Tower (4,600 m) for lunch. Descend along rocky trails to Barranco Camp, preparing for acclimatization and the summit push. Evening spent resting and enjoying the mountain scenery.

Climb the Barranco Wall, pass through Karanga Valley, then continue to Barafu Camp, completing the South Circuit. Trek 9 km over 8–10 hours through alpine desert terrain, enjoying spectacular views of Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks. Dinner and rest at Barafu in preparation for the summit attempt.

Barafu Camp (4,673 m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) – Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m)
Wake around 11:00 PM for tea and snacks, then start the midnight summit attempt. Ascend 5 km over 7–8 hours through steep scree to Stella Point (5,756 m), then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) for sunrise. Descend 12 km over 4–6 hours to Mweka Camp with a stop at Barafu for lunch. Trekking poles and gaiters are recommended. Dinner and overnight at Mweka Camp.
