<p>After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), climbers are greeted with warm Tanzanian air and excitement for the adventure ahead. The airport, 45 km from Moshi, is the main gateway for trekkers to Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, guides assist with luggage and transport to Panama HOTEL in Moshi. The drive takes 45 minutes to an hour, passing through scenic landscapes, villages, and plantations, with views of the mountain. As they approach Moshi, the lively town streets, markets, and locals are visible. At the hotel, the group is welcomed warmly, checks in, and enjoys a refreshing drink before settling into their rooms. Later, over dinner, the guide provides a briefing on the trek itinerary, safety protocols, and final gear checks. The evening ends with a restful night to prepare for the climb. From Moshi to Machame camp

The dense rainforest faded into moorland, with rocky terrain and thinning air making each step harder. Despite the challenge, breathtaking valley views and Kilimanjaro’s towering peak kept us motivated. By midday, we stopped for a hot meal, re-energizing before continuing the ascent. Reaching Shira Camp at 12,600 ft (3,850 m), exhaustion set in, but the stunning panorama made it worthwhile. The altitude was noticeable, yet the sense of accomplishment was strong. After settling in, we rested, found the washrooms, and shared stories of the day’s climb. As night fell, we enjoyed a warm dinner, reflecting on the journey so far. Machame camp to Shira Cave Camp

After a hearty breakfast, we began the slow ascent to Lava Tower (15,223 ft), feeling the effects of the thinning air and taking frequent rests. By noon, we reached Lava Tower and enjoyed a warm lunch of soup, sandwiches, and fruit. Some climbers used supplemental oxygen to adjust to the altitude. After a break, we descended toward Barranco Camp (13,044 ft), where the thicker air brought relief. Along the way, we admired the towering Seneca plants. By late afternoon, we arrived at Barranco Camp, exhausted but content. A warm dinner of rice, vegetables, and meat restored our energy.
