MARANGU GATE (1,800m) TO Kibo Hut (2,743m

<p>• Elevation Gain: 943m (3,000ft) • Distance: 7km • Hiking Time: 3-4 hours An early wake-up and breakfast start your day before we drive to Marangu Gate. After registration, the trek through lush rainforest begins. You’ll encounter blue monkeys and exotic birds along the way. A picnic lunch at Kisambioni is followed by a hike to Mandara Hut. If you're feeling up for it, a short hike to Maundi Crater offers stunning views of Taveta and Mawenzi Peak.</p>

MANDARA HUT TO HOROMBO HUT (3,720m)

ACCLIMATIZATION DAY – HOROMBO HUT TO MAWENZI HUT (4,600m) & BACK

<p>• Elevation Gain &amp; Loss: 880m (2,900ft) • Distance: 8km • Hiking Time: 4-5 hours We start early for a relaxed hike to Mawenzi Hut for a stunning view of Kibo Peak. Enjoy a picnic lunch and then descend back to Horombo Hut for the night, allowing your body time to acclimatize.</p>

After a lunch break near Middle Red Hill, we’ll continue across the Kilimanjaro Saddle to reach Kibo Hut, where you'll rest before summit night</p>

SUMMIT DAY – KIBO HUT TO UHURU PEAK (5,895m) & DESCENT TO HOROMBO HUT

<p>• Elevation Gain: 1,145m (3,760ft) • Elevation Loss: 2,175m (7,140ft) • Distance: 18km • Hiking Time: 11-13 hours An early breakfast kicks off summit day! Starting at midnight, we begin the climb to Uhuru Peak under a star-filled sky. We reach Gillman’s Point (5,681m) after about five hours, then continue to Uhuru Peak. After capturing sunrise photos, we descend to Kibo Hut, then continue to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest</p>

HOROMBO HUT TO MARANGU GATE (1,800m) & RETURN TO MOSHI

<p>• Elevation Loss: 1,920m (6,295ft) • Distance: 19km • Hiking Time: 5-6 hours After breakfast, we start the descent through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. Once at the gate, you'll receive your summit certificate—a well-deserved reward for your achievement! We’ll stop for a refreshing drink before returning to Panama Hotel in Moshi for a hot shower and a relaxing evening. Looking for more adventure? We can arrange budget-friendly safaris to Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, or Tarangire, or even a Zanzibar beach escape.
