After arriving in Arusha, your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel in Moshi. In the afternoon, your guide will conduct a briefing at the hotel to prepare you for the adventure ahead.

Moshi – Rongai Gate – Simba Camp
After breakfast, your driver will collect you and drive you to Rongai Gate to secure your hiking permit. The trail then winds through farmland before gently climbing into the dense rainforest at Mount Kilimanjaro’s base, guiding you to your first mountain overnight stay at Simba Camp.

Today’s hike is fairly brief, giving you plenty of time in the afternoon to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and acclimate to the higher altitude.

Summit night has arrived! After waking up at midnight and enjoying a warm drink, you’ll start the demanding climb to Uhuru Peak, which stands at 5,895m (19,340ft) above sea level. This is the most challenging part of the trek, involving a steep ascent over loose scree up to the crater rim at Gilman’s Point. Reaching this point requires determination and endurance. After a short rest, you’ll continue to Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa! Following summit photos and celebrations, you’ll descend to Kibo Huts for lunch before making your way to Horombo Huts for your final night on the mountain.
