The day starts with a steep climb over gentle rocky slopes, followed by a gradual ascent to the Lava Tower at 4,600 meters—an impressive volcanic formation rising 150 meters high. You’ll wake up around 11:00 pm to enjoy some tea and snacks, then dress warmly for the midnight start of your Kilimanjaro Uhuru summit attempt. The climb begins with a steep, rocky path lasting 2–3 hours, followed by a tough zigzag trail leading to the crater rim and Stella Point (5,756m), which you’ll reach by about 6:00 am. Here, you’ll join climbers from Marangu and Rongai routes and continue together toward Uhuru Peak. The final hour takes you to the summit (5,895m), where you might catch the sunrise at Stella Point, along the way, or at the top. After 10–15 minutes for photos and soaking in the view, you’ll descend to Barafu Camp for brunch and rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp. The ascent covers 5 km and takes 7–8 hours, while the descent is 12 km and takes 4–6 hours to reach Mweka Camp at 3,100m.

Following breakfast, you will commence your final descent to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters), where you will receive your summit certificates. The trail at lower altitudes may be muddy and damp, thus it is advisable to use gaiters and trekking poles. Lightweight attire such as shorts and T-shirts is generally adequate, but it is wise to have your rain gear and warm layers readily available. Upon arrival at the gate, our vehicle will be prepared to transport you back to your mid-range hotel in Moshi for a rejuvenating hot shower and a cold beer.
