Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be warmly greeted by your tour representative and driven to Moshi, a charming town nestled at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. In the evening, a comprehensive briefing will be held where you’ll meet your experienced guides and porters. The trail begins with a gentle walk-through farmland and gradually enters a lush montane forest, home to colobus monkeys and various exotic birds. When you reach Simba Camp, your wash tents will be ready for you to freshen up before dinner. Private toilets will be provided for enhanced hygiene and comfort, and oxygen tanks will be available as a precaution against altitude-related issues.

As you leave the Third Cave early in the morning, you’ll move out of the semi-desert zone and begin your journey through the Alpine Desert for the final leg of your ascent. Today’s trek leads you to the Kibo Huts, located just beneath the Kibo crater wall. Here, you’ll join the Marangu Route, which you’ll follow to the summit. Before turning in for the night around 7 PM, you’ll prepare your gear—replacing batteries in your headlamp and camera—and get some rest ahead of your summit push. Wash tents will be ready for your use to help you freshen up, and private toilets will be available for extra comfort. A brief acclimatization hike is recommended before dinner, and oxygen support will be provided if needed.

As you ascend through switchbacks on loose scree between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, anticipation grows. Upon reaching Stella Point, you’ll witness a stunning sunrise before continuing with a final snowy push to Uhuru Peak—Africa’s highest point. After celebrations, photos, and a sense of triumph, the descent begins. A break at Kibo Hut offers a brief rest and lunch before the journey continues to Horombo Huts. Trekking poles and gaiters are recommended for navigating the loose gravel. At Horombo, a well-deserved rest and your wash tents await, giving you a chance to refresh before dinner and your final night on the mountain.

After breakfast and a heartfelt farewell ceremony with your crew, it’s time to part ways. The descent continues, with a lunch stop at Mandara Huts. You’ll then proceed to the Marangu Park Gate, where you’ll receive your well-earned summit certificates. With the warmer weather, expect the trail to be wet, muddy, and steep—gaiters and trekking poles are strongly recommended. A vehicle will be waiting at the gate to take you back to your hotel in Moshi (approximately 45 minutes). There, you can enjoy a well-deserved hot shower, a hearty dinner, and a joyful celebration!
