Experience our top best 5-day group luxury trek up Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Tanzania. Known as the "Coca-Cola" route, it is the oldest and most established trail, offering dormitory-style huts with 60 beds at Mandara and Kibo, and 120 at Horombo. Favored for its gentle slopes and easier ascent, it is busier and less scenic since ascent and descent follow the same path.

From there, the climb continues to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, where stunning views await you. Don’t forget to take a photo at the summit to commemorate your accomplishment. Shortly after reaching the top, you’ll start descending, pausing at Kibo for lunch and a brief rest before continuing down to Horombo Camp. Since this part of the hike starts in total darkness, headlamps or flashlights are essential. Expect very cold temperatures until you begin descending, so dress in all your warm layers. This section is the most challenging part of the climb, featuring many switchbacks. Maintaining a slow, steady pace—pole pole—and staying mentally strong are key to reaching the summit successfully.
