Discover our top best 5-day group budget Kilimanjaro climb via the Marangu Route from Arusha in Tanzania. The Marangu route, known as the "Coca-Cola" route, is the oldest and most established path on Kilimanjaro. From there, the climb continues to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, offering breathtaking views along the way. Be sure to capture a photo at the summit to commemorate your achievement. Afterward, begin your descent, stopping at Kibo for lunch and a short rest before heading down to the Horombo encampment. This portion of the trek starts in complete darkness, requiring headlamps or flashlights. Expect extremely cold temperatures until you begin descending, so be sure to wear all your warm layers. This is the toughest section of the entire climb, with numerous switchbacks. A slow and steady pace—'pole pole'—along with a positive mindset, will help you reach the top.
