Zanzibar – Moshi
Upon arrival in Zanzibar, Tanzania, you will be assisted by our professional guide and transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for a connecting flight to Moshi. You will be taken to a mid-range hotel in Moshi to rest, enjoy dinner, and attend a pre-climb briefing covering the Marangu Route, safety tips, and what to expect on your Kilimanjaro trek.

You will be transferred to Marangu Gate, where you will meet your guides. You will begin trekking through the lush Montane Forest, spotting Colobus monkeys and enjoying the shade of towering Eucalyptus trees. You will have the option to take a short detour to Maundi Crater for panoramic views of northern Tanzania and Kenya. You will arrive at Mandara Huts, where you will enjoy lunch and dinner and prepare for the climb ahead.

Mandara Huts – Horombo Huts
Elevation: 9,000 ft / 2,700 m to 12,100 ft / 3,700 m | Distance: 11 km | Time: 6–8 hours | Habitat: Heathland / Moorland
You will leave the dense rainforest behind and trek uphill across open moorland toward Horombo Huts. You will enjoy breathtaking views of Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks, and you will observe the giant lobelias and groundsels along the trail. As you ascend, you will feel the effects of increasing altitude.

Elevation: 12,100 ft / 3,700 m to 15,400 ft / 4,700 m | Distance: 10 km | Time: 6–8 hours | Habitat: Alpine Desert
You will pass the final water source and reach Kilimanjaro’s saddle, the plateau between Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks. You will trek through upper heathland and lunar-like landscapes before arriving at Kibo Huts, where you will relax and prepare for your midnight summit attempt.
Kibo Huts – Summit (Uhuru Peak) – Horombo Huts
Elevation: 15,400 ft / 4,700 m to 19,300 ft / 5,895 m (up) and back to 12,100 ft / 3,700 m (down) | Distance: 4 km up / 14 km down | Time: 10–15 hours | Habitat: Alpine Desert
You will start your final ascent in the early hours (midnight–2 a.m.) via loose scree and snow toward Gilman’s Point. You will continue to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest summit, where breathtaking sunrise views await. You will capture memorable photos and then begin descending, stopping at Kibo for lunch and a short rest before heading down to Horombo Huts, where you will rest after your achievement.

You will descend through moorlands and rainforest to Marangu Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate. You will then transfer to Moshi for a brief rest and lunch. Later, you will be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight back to Zanzibar, Tanzania, concluding your Kilimanjaro adventure.
