Your journey starts with a hotel pick-up in Moshi, followed by a scenic drive to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park, the starting point of your trek. After a quick registration, we’ll set off on the trail, accompanied by an armed park ranger for safety. As we hike through the lower slopes of Mount Meru, you’ll have the chance to encounter zebras, giraffes, monkeys, antelopes, and even elephants roaming in the wild. The trail winds through lush mountain forests, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful hiking experience. After about 4 to 5 hours of trekking, we’ll reach Miriakamba Huts, where a warm meal and a well-earned rest await.

After breakfast, we’ll start the day with a gentle climb to Mgongo wa Tembo (Elephant Ridge), a scenic lookout point with incredible views of Mount Meru’s crater and towering cliffs. The trail passes Buffalo Swamp (Topeka Mbogo) and leads to Elephant Ridge, a perfect spot to soak in the mountain’s natural beauty. From here, we begin our descent back to Momella Gate, walking through a lush montane forest, where you’ll see the impressive Fig Tree Arch—a massive tree you can walk under! Once we reach the gate, our driver will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure.
