Depart Nairobi early in the morning for the Mount Kenya National Park gate, approximately a three-hour drive. Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch at the park’s scenic site. After lunch, the trekking begins toward Old Moses Camp at 3300 meters. The hike typically takes about three and a half hours, depending on your pace, allowing you to gradually acclimatize to the higher altitude. Take in the stunning views of forested slopes and rugged mountain terrain along the trail. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Old Moses Hut, providing a cozy retreat after the first day of trekking.

Today is dedicated to acclimatization and light trekking around the Shiptons Camp area. This gentle day allows your body to adjust to higher altitudes in preparation for the summit attempt. In the evening, return to Shiptons Camp for dinner and overnight rest, surrounded by the beauty of Mount Kenya’s high-altitude landscape.

Summit Point Lenana and Descend to Bandas Camp
Wake early at 3:30 AM to begin the ascent to Point Lenana (4985m), aiming to reach the summit at dawn for a spectacular sunrise over the mountain peaks. The climb to the summit typically takes around four hours, offering breathtaking views of glacial valleys, rugged cliffs, and alpine moorlands. After summiting, descend to Mintos Camp for breakfast, a journey of approximately three hours. Continue descending to Road Head Camp for lunch, which takes around four and a half hours, before proceeding to Bandas Camp for the evening. Relax and enjoy dinner at the camp, reflecting on the challenging yet rewarding summit experience.
