Moshi to Lemosho Gate to Forest Camp

Your trek officially begins as you depart from Moshi to Lemosho Gate, which takes about 4 hours. After completing entry formalities, you’ll drive to the Lemosho trailhead. The hike starts at 2,400 m and ascends to Forest Camp at 2,900 m, covering 6 km in 3-4 hours. The trail winds through an undisturbed forest, leading you to the first campsite, where you can enjoy a peaceful night under the stars.

Forest Camp to Shira One Camp

The views of Kibo Peak from Shira Ridge are breathtaking as you settle into camp for the night.

This day is crucial for acclimatization despite ending at a lower elevation.

After celebrating at the highest point in Africa, descend to Mweka Hut for a restful night, covering around 4-6 hours of hiking.

Later, drive back to your hotel in Moshi for relaxation before continuing to Arusha for an overnight stay and a peaceful evening.
