Your adventure begins with a morning drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate for registration and park formalities. After completing the entry procedures, you'll continue to the Lemosho trailhead where your trek officially begins. The trail winds through a lush tropical rainforest rich in wildlife, including the black-and-white Colobus monkey. After a leisurely hike, you'll arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp ("Big Tree Camp") for dinner and your first overnight stay on the mountain.

Today is a relatively short trekking day designed to promote acclimatization. You'll hike across the expansive Shira Plateau at a relaxed pace, with an optional acclimatization walk toward Shira Cathedral before arriving at Shira 2 Camp. Staying at Crater Camp also improves your chances of reaching the summit comfortably the following morning.

At the gate, complete the park exit formalities and receive your Mount Kilimanjaro summit certificate.
